ディケンズをはじめとする18〜19世紀英国小説を主なフィールドに、コーパスと多変量解析、トピックモデル、単語埋め込みを用いて「文体」と「意味」の変化を測っています。テクストを線的に読むだけでなく、ズームイン・ズームアウトしながら読むための方法を研究しています。
I study style and meaning in British fiction of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Dickens above all, using corpora, multivariate statistics, topic models and word embeddings: methods for reading texts non-linearly, zooming out across a period and back in to the word.

青空文庫の近代文学 122 作品（1872–1959 年）を，典拠のある書誌と再現できる前処理のうえに作り直したコーパスです。用例を引く KWIC コンコーダンサと，トピックモデルを読むためのビューアを，ブラウザだけで使える形で公開しています。
122 modern Japanese literary works (1872–1959) from Aozora Bunko, rebuilt on documented metadata and a reproducible pipeline. A KWIC concordancer and a topic-model viewer run entirely in the browser.

ORCHiDS コーパス（18世紀26作品・19世紀34作品）で世紀ごとに単語埋め込みを学習し、直交プロクルステス変換で空間を揃えて、語の位置が動いた「方向」を測りました。下の語を選ぶと、各世紀での近傍語が比べられます。
Word embeddings trained separately on 26 eighteenth- and 34 nineteenth-century novels (ORCHiDS), aligned by orthogonal Procrustes, measure the direction in which a word moved. Pick a word to compare its neighbours in each century.
専門語でも新しい話題の語でもなく、物語散文の日常語が並びます。枠付きの語は上の事例に収録。Not technical vocabulary: the ordinary working words of narrative prose. Outlined words appear in the case studies above.
