JOB OPENING
three full-time positions teaching English as a Foreign Language to undergraduates
Osaka University seeks applications from qualified candidates for three full-time positions teaching English as a Foreign Language to undergraduates, commencing on April 1, 2006. Successful applicants will be affiliated with the Department of English in the Graduate School of Language and Culture. Details of the position are given below.
Position offered:
Specially appointed academic staff (tokunin kyouin).
Period of employment:
Three years.
Duties
(1) Number of classes to be taught: Seven 90-minute classes per week.
(2) Collaborative research and other professional service.
Annual salary:
In accordance with the university wage scale, based on age, qualifications, and experience.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be native speakers of English and have a Master's or higher degree in English language education or a related field such as linguistics or literature. Applicants should have at least two years' teaching experience and two publications. Age 40 or under as of April 1, 2006, preferable.

(1) Curriculum vitae.
(2) Copies of all diplomas including and beyond the bachelor’s degree (photocopies are admissible).
(3) List of academic publications.
(4) Copies of two major publications (photocopies are admissible), each with an abstract (approximately 200 words) attached.
(5) One-page statement (A4) of professional purpose.
Method of screening:
After applications have been reviewed, finalists will be interviewed if necessary. Interviewees will be responsible for their own travel and hotel expenses.
